Hi, I'm Robert Baltaru, a software engineer with more than 5 years of experience, mostly in backend development with Java and Spring Boot. I design and build efficient, well-tested systems that solve real-world problems. Beyond the backend I also work with Kotlin and Android, React, Docker, Kubernetes and Linux server administration, which helps me see how every part of a product fits together. I'm always learning and enjoy turning hard problems into simple, reliable software.
Java is my main superpower! I discovered this language over six years ago and instantly fell in love with it. Despite being around for a while, Java still has tons of potential, and I believe it has a lot more to give. It’s like a timeless classic that continues to evolve and stay relevant in today’s fast-paced tech world.
AI is part of my everyday work now. I use Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini daily, and these days a lot of my time goes into working with coding agents like Claude Code: I hand them the repetitive jobs, read everything they write, and keep the design decisions for myself. I enjoy building with AI more than just chatting with it, so I took a few of Anthropic's courses to understand how these models work, where they get things wrong, and how to get reliable results out of them.
SpringBoot is one of the most amazing frameworks out there. It’s like having a personal assistant that speeds up development without the headache of configuration. It gives you so much out of the box, you’ll wonder why you ever worked without it. Seriously, it’s a productivity booster for developers looking to get things done quickly and efficiently!
